My Story

Dr. Jimmy Knott is a native Tennessean. He earned his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1973. That same year, he married Linda Lewis, his high school sweetheart. After working as an engineer for the DuPont Company in Nashville, Jimmy felt the Lord’s leadership into the ministry. He enrolled at New Orleans Theological Seminary, and earned his M. Div., in 1976. Jimmy served on the staff at First Baptist Church of Orlando from June 1980 until his retirement in October 2020. Jimmy earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2002.

Jimmy and Linda have three children, Stephanie, Jonathan and Justin and four grandchildren, Tyler, Alyssa, James and Adeline. Jimmy’s passion is to assist believers in maximizing their impact for Christ and that is the goal of this website.
